My SkyStar 2 card arrived today. It works fine, but. where is TV4PC? DVBViewer has been installed without any problems, but I can't find TV4PC anywhere, even on the CD. It's not in the start menu or in Server4PC's menu. Help!

- #2If you right mouse click the satellite icon in the bottom right hand corner by the clock, you should see an option on there to load TV4PC. Its very odd as the shortcut normally loads into Technisat DVB on the start menu. If not create a shortcut to C:Program FilesTechnisat DVBBinTV4PC.exe
You need to run Setup4PC first and go into Transponder Managment to tune in all of the frequencies, which can take several days to tune in depending on the step size you set. - #3Thanks, I tried that, but it does not exist! I have searched for tv4pc.exe on my hard drive and the CD but I can't find it! I have had no errors or even a mention of the program.
I bought the card over the phone from Sat Europa yesterday. The CD looks normal and it is not a copy. What's going on? - #4I suppose you could deinstall it then try again. Also, I would see if SATEUROPA can help, seeing as you just bought it.

SkyStar 2 TV
'MediaPlayer 9
The current software release contains a patch regarding MediaPlayer 9 issues in conjunction with TV4PC.
If you encounter any problems operating TV4PC having the MediaPlayer 9 already installed, please take the SkyStar 2 installation CD and search MP9Patch folder. Inside is a Patch. Just execute it and reboot the PC. In case you have an older SkyStar 2 installation CD the patch is available here:'

It looks like a different version of the software - according to the CD, my version is v4.2.8. The 'About.' option even says it's a different program, but it has the same icon and it is the program that runs when I choose 'Server4PC' in the start menu! Compare the programs' menus:

- #9I will try that, but at the moment I'm waiting for an answer from Sat Europa.
- #10Try editing the setup.ini file in the drivers.
InstallTvApp=FALSE change to InstallTvApp=True and install drivers. - #11Perhaps I'm missing something here Andrew, but why do you particularly need TV4PC? There are several other programs around which do the same if not better job, Mytheatre or ProgDVB are far superior TV interfaces.

Well, I haven't heard of them before and to be honest I think that I should get what I pay for. And I didn't pay for half of the programs to be missing. But now it gets worse - I just tried ProgDVB and it says that 'the device has not been started'. (MyTheatre has a dead link on it's site). - #13If you are running Windows XP, MyTheatre is the best (in my opinion), This should be a working link
These programmes will knock spots of TV4PC, it is next to useless and only included as a utility, that's why they now include DVBViewer, unfortunately, this stands just behind TV4PC in the useless queue. - #14the setup.ini is located in the 428TS driver Install folder the same folder as the setup.exe file.
Just installed with InstallTvApp=True and TV4PC was installed. - #15the setup.ini is located in the 428TS driver Install folder the same folder as the setup.exe file. Just installed with InstallTvApp=True and TV4PC was installed.

I'm afraid I'm using Windows ME
And after trying TV4PC, I see what you mean. but I haven't been able to try either of them yet. That version of MyTheatre won't work with ME, and I'm still trying to find out why ProgDVB won't work! - #160
